Abstract
SUMMARY: 1. A direct technique for the measurement of the number of cells in a bone marrow suspension capable of continued proliferation is described. 2. The technique was used to measure the radiation sensitivity of normal mouse bone marrow cells and yielded a Do of 115 ± 8 rads.
Description
Counts of macroscopic splenic colonies were used to obtain an estimate of the radiation sensitivity of normal mouse bone marrow progenitor cells. Reproduced from Radiation Research 1961(Feb); 14(2): 213-222 by copyright permission of the Radiation Research Society (www.radres.org).
