Department of Medical Biophysics (MBP)

Medical Biophysics is an interdisciplinary department, in the Faculty of Medicine, covering the fields Cellular and Molecular Biology, Medical Physics and Imaging, and Molecular and Structural Biology. The focus of the Department is on research and the education of Graduate students. Primary locations are the Ontario Cancer Institute of the University Health Network and at the Sunnybrook & Women's College Health Science Centre. Members of the Department undertake research in a variety of biomedical areas, with an emphasis on basic and applied research related to cancer. Research projects which cut across the conventional disciplinary boundaries, such as those between physics, engineering, chemistry, biology and medicine are encouraged.
