The Amaranth No. 1

Abstract

Since 1971, when courses in modern Greek language and literature were first offered at the University of Toronto, several hundred Greek and non-Greek students enrolled in one or more of the courses available every year. The existing program in modern Greek is one of the two or three largest programs of its kind in North America, and is potentially expandable to include more offerings in language and literature, graduate work as well as (through special arrangement) lectures on the history of modern Greece, its society, its politics, its culture, et alia.
