Department of Applied Psychology & Human Development (APHD)

The Department of Applied Psychology & Human Development (APHD) is a research-intensive Department, boasting some of the finest, internationally-known scholars in their fields who teach in our five graduate programs: Child Study and Education (Teacher Education program) Counselling and Clinical Psychology Counselling Psychology Developmental Psychology and Education School and Clinical Child Psychology. Our programs focus on basic and applied research pertaining to children, adolescents and adults. The department seeks to make effective use of that knowledge in key practical arenas, especially education. In terms of graduate education, it is committed to shaping the next generation of researchers, scholars, and practitioners within the field of human development. Finally, the department is committed to the development of highly trained professionals with a strong human development background in the fields of teaching and school and clinical child psychology.
