Abstract
Description
Shand describes the 40th anniversary issue of the Canadian Music Educator in 2000 (Vol.
41, No. 3 and 4) and her own article therein which analyzed the focus on Canadian music
in CME Volumes 1 to 40, as well as her subsequent study of the coverage of Canadian
music in CME Volumes 41 to 45. She goes on to discuss her past contributions to the
CME as well as the importance of the research and project descriptions contributed by Rodger J. Beatty, Natalie Kuzmich, and others; these have allowed the Canadian Music Educator and the Canadian Music Educators’ Association to become a truly “ national voice for music education in Canada.”
