Abstract
Description
This article describes the work of Jean Ashworth Bartle, recipient of the 2004 Distinguished Service Award from the Music Education Division of the University of Toronto Faculty of Music. The award was presented at a concert by the MacMillan
Singers, conducted by Doreen Rao, which featured works by Canadian composers – an appropriate setting for honouring someone whose career for the past 25 years has involved the promotion of Canadian music, especially through her work with the Toronto Children’s Chorus.
