Abstract
The presentation will describe work at the University of Toronto Libraries to gaps in the library of literature by Black Canadians and the novel approach the library took to establish digitization and distribution partnerships with CIDIHCA (Centre International de Documentation et d’Information Haitienne, Caribéenne et Afro-canadienne) and Black Canadian authors. Collection building is an inherently political activity, and this work speaks to the University of Toronto Libraries growing commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of professional practice.
