Abstract

Description

Shand reports on the July 2007 meeting of the board of the International Society for Music Education, held in Bologna. She discusses the planning and ideas that are building towards the 2008 ISME conference. She gives dates for the seminars of the seven ISME commissions, and explains ISME’s interest in developing its relations with its national affiliates (such as CMEA in Canada), with international arts education organizations, and with corporate donors. Such a relationship with the Gibson Foundation has led to the creation of a prestigious award. Shand invites readers to explore the ISME website for more details about awards and about opportunities for participation.
